The name of the study is “Individualizing Surveillance Mammography for Older Breast Cancer Survivors”. The aim of this study is for a follow-up with several Survivors to see their conditions now and how they differ by doing a mammography. This is to develop a communication tool that gives information for summarizing recommendations for follow-up care for Breast Cancer survivor patients 75 and older. This study is an interventional study. Its research plan and protocol. The study’s lead investigator is Rachel Freedman, MD, MPH. The sponsor of this study is Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The study’s recruitment status is active and not recruiting. I am unsure of if study has been evaluated by the Federal government or not because the information is not provided on the page. There is a disclaimer that says, “listing a study does not mean it has been evaluated by the U.S. Federal Government.” However, they do not provide more information beyond that. The procedures of the study to first conduct 30 interviews with patients via phone call. Then, there will be 4-6 focus groups led by oncologists and other primary care providers to discuss and get ideas about when to stop the surveillance mammography on Survivor patients who are 75 or older. Finally, a cognitive test will be performed of the communication tool.
